I once participated in the hire of a graphic designer. Preparing for the interview, I discovered a prompt that has since become my favorite: “Pick out a favorite piece in your portfolio and tell me what makes it special.”

I love to hear people talk about what makes their hearts sing.

For different reasons, the items in this collection make my heart sing. I often favor the one I’m working on in the moment. But just when I say that, Out on the trail in dreamland whispers, “Not so fast, missy, remember me?”
